FL in October
In October we went to FL for just 6 days. We tried to get in as much as possible yet also get some relaxation. We swam in Mormor & Papa's pool, went to the Palm Beach Zoo, rode the trolley on Clematis and ate at Pizza Girls for lunch, played dress up show with Mormor's hats and masks, went to Old Town in Orlando where little miss overcame her fear and rode the go-carts, spent time with Dubda riding rides and riding our bikes. It was a nice quick visit. Enjoy!

Our Scarecrow
In the summer I went to one of the local attractions in the Triangle area and while at the gift shop bought a book on gardening for / with children. In the book there was a section on how to make a scarecrow. I never made one before and I thought the kids would find it interesting. So, I had Tom make me a wooden cross to use for his body and then I decorated him with items I bought at the local Goodwill. Our neighbor Heather modeled the jacket and hat for us (hee hee). We stuffed him with straw and decorated his shirt and pants with patches from the ugliest coat I have ever seen. The material was perfect for making patches. We just recently took him down, but for Christmas we put a santa hat on him. He was there for about 4 and a half months. Enjoy!

The Firepit
We decided one day that we needed a place to burn what falls off the trees (leaves, twigs, etc...). So we decided to build a firepit. But not just any firepit. We wanted it to be nice looking and a place we could also go and make smores and tell ghost stories. So we went to Home Depot and bought our supplies. We picked a spot in our backyard and began laying things out. Turns out it just so happened to be the Sunday of Labor day Weekend, and after laying it out we had a block party to attend. Well, I wasn't in the mood to wait, so I wanted to lit it right away. We did and enjoyed smores while the kids ran around. It was a great day! Enjoy.
